1. Silk degumming does not occur. Silk is formed by wrapping and infiltrating two silk fibroins with sericin. Both sericin (globulin) and silk fibroin (silk fibroin) are proteins, but there are differences in their structure and amino acid composition. Silk fibroin is the main component of silk, accounting for about 70% -73% of its mass, sericin accounts for about 23% -25%, and there are also about 5% of other media. Sericin is a spherical protein with good water solubility. Dissolving silk in hot water for degumming and refining utilizes this characteristic of sericin. Due to the different amino acid compositions of sericin and silk fibroin, silk fibroin is silk fibroin and sericin is globulin. Therefore, the total length of silk produced by silkworms can reach 800 to 1200 meters. Because the protruding mucus of the silkworm has a layer of glue wrapping around amino acids.
