Can't the silk quilt be sunburned? Good silk quilts are not afraid of sun exposure

There are many precautions for the use and maintenance of silk quilts, one of which is to avoid exposing them to the sun as much as possible, as silk is mainly composed of proteins, which can cause silk to break when exposed to the sun.

Is it true that silk cannot be dried as they say? Of course not! The silk of a good silk quilt can be sun dried. Silkworm will explain why some people say that silk quilts cannot be sun dried.

1. Silk degumming does not occur. Silk is formed by wrapping and infiltrating two silk fibroins with sericin. Both sericin (globulin) and silk fibroin (silk fibroin) are proteins, but there are differences in their structure and amino acid composition. Silk fibroin is the main component of silk, accounting for about 70% -73% of its mass, sericin accounts for about 23% -25%, and there are also about 5% of other media. Sericin is a spherical protein with good water solubility. Dissolving silk in hot water for degumming and refining utilizes this characteristic of sericin. Due to the different amino acid compositions of sericin and silk fibroin, silk fibroin is silk fibroin and sericin is globulin. Therefore, the total length of silk produced by silkworms can reach 800 to 1200 meters. Because the protruding mucus of the silkworm has a layer of glue wrapping around amino acids. If the glue is not removed, all nutrients cannot be released. After the glue is removed, it is to better allow the human body to absorb the protein of silk. Silk degumming does not * * make the silk brittle and easy to stick, making it not fluffy enough or even easy to knot quickly after being exposed to the sun.

2. The quilt core mainly uses short silk quilts.

Silk filling material: Classification of mulberry silk grade: 1: Special grade, usually made of handmade cotton bags or machine made long silk from refined and wool double cocoons. Double cocoons have a small quantity in the entire cocoon production and are scarce in resources. It is a large cocoon made by two or three silkworms spinning silk at the same time, with 2-3 interwoven strands of silk. It is a good filling material for making silk quilts, and double palace silk is like royal jelly in honey. The market supply is not large and prices are also high. 2: Premium grade is generally produced by using standard cocoons from spring or late autumn silkworms to produce handmade cotton bags or machine made long silk. Cocooning is a good material for making white factory silk and satin, as well as a high-quality material for producing silk filling materials. Cocooning has a large quantity and abundant resources in silkworm cocoon production. The length of a single strand of cocooned silk is between 1000 and 2000 meters. The current market supply is large. 3: Grade one, usually produced by silk reeling factories from secondary cocoons, through cocoons, and yellow spot cocoons, is a type of machine made long silk. Bleaching and softening agents must be added to the production of such machine made silk. The silk produced by this type of machine made silk is filled with fillers, bleached in color and texture, and has a good hand feel. It also has a good degree of elasticity, which is currently used to impersonate more than double palace mulberry silk. There is a fatal drawback, which is the presence of chemical agents. Silk has insufficient tensile strength, is prone to breakage, and has a shorter lifespan, usually less than 6-8 years. 4: Qualified grade, usually produced from the leftover material of silk reeling called pupa lining silk floss. During production, a lot of chemicals, bleach, softener, loosening agent, caustic soda, etc. need to be added. This silk is also a long silk, and when pulled, there will be many tendons, which are usually filled with middle and lower grade silk
